Enterprise Technology

Put AI to work inside clear operating boundaries.

Connect enterprise knowledge and approved tools to AI systems with evaluation, access controls, and observable behavior.

The challenge

A prototype is not an operating system.

A successful AI demonstration does not establish that the system can reliably handle real permissions, incomplete data, and operational exceptions.

Implementation considerations

Make the boundaries explicit.

01

Select work that can be evaluated

Define the task, approved information sources, escalation conditions, and expected reviewer role. Compare the system with the current workflow using a documented evaluation set.

02

Give tools the minimum necessary access

Separate read access from actions that change records. Use scoped identities, explicit approval points, and logs that connect each tool call to a user request and policy decision.

03

Operate beyond the prototype

Monitor model and retrieval changes, quality regressions, latency, and cost. Keep rollback and incident procedures close to the release process so that AI behavior remains accountable as dependencies evolve.

Technical perspective

The architecture behind the work.

Policy and identity decide what an agent may reach before any tool is wired to it.

Scope the first step

Before the first commitment.

How do we know an agent is working?

By choosing work that can be evaluated before it is deployed. If there is no way to judge an output against a known case, there is no way to operate the system beyond a demonstration.
