Start with the problem. Stay accountable to the result.

A proposed delivery lifecycle: how discovery, architecture, build, validation, and ongoing support follow from one another in an engagement.

The challenge

Decisions in the order they depend on each other.

A common delivery structure makes technical decisions and responsibilities easier to review across disciplines.

Implementation considerations

Make the boundaries explicit.

01

Discover → Architect

Map the current workflow, dependencies, data, and constraints. Agree intended use, acceptance criteria, scope boundaries, and ownership. Document the target architecture and the tradeoffs behind it.

02

Build & Integrate → Validate

Deliver in reviewable increments. Exercise interfaces, failure conditions, user workflows, and recovery paths. Where regulated use is involved, agree validation responsibilities and required evidence with qualified stakeholders.

03

Scale & Support

Release with operational documentation, monitoring, escalation routes, and a change process. Support scope, availability commitments, and service levels are agreed for the specific engagement.

Technical perspective

A connected delivery lifecycle.

Every stage hands the next one a decision that can still be revisited.

Scope the first step

Before the first commitment.

Does every engagement run all five stages?

No. The lifecycle describes the order decisions depend on, not a fixed sequence of deliverables. An engagement can begin at any stage, provided the earlier ones have already been settled.
